Olivia Faren
Status Alive. Barron's accountant and investigator in Kormor Kirak, lodging at the Bastion Inn; has drafted the theater's construction schedule, fought a Necrotic Bulk, seen the princess become a leopard, and lost her calculator to Szeret. Chooses to stay.
Olivia Faren is a Counting House accountant in her twenties, raised in an Albion state orphanage, who has never travelled, drunk, or danced. Her hands move across a comptometer with unrivalled speed and her lips move as she counts. She carries a locket of the Prince and Princess and a hand-held brass calculator shaped like a pepper mill. Reassigned to Foreign Minister Barron Whitehallow, she is taken to Kormor Kirak, where she counts the eighty-eight wounds on a corpse and befriends a vampire princess.

- She found a receipt for a direct payment from Wooster's office to an invalid corporal back from Gravinia, believed there was a traitor in the counting house, and was reassigned to Barron the same day. pilot pp. 7-8
- She had never been away from the capital, never travelled aloft, never had alcohol, and never danced; she says she had no one to lose to the war. pilot pp. 9, 11, 21, 27
- She calms her nerves by calculating simple sums on a hand-held mechanical calculator shaped like a pepper mill, worked by slide, lift, twist, and crank. pilot pp. 5, 9, 47

- Szeret takes both her hands, insists on 'Szeret', and spins her in a waltz; Barron separates them: 'Hands off the help.' pilot pp. 40-41
- In the Hallaset Fields she teaches Szeret the calculator, tackles her to save her from the Necrotic Bulk, then takes one of Jack's spare weapons and joins the fight. pilot pp. 47-49
